UC Berkeley Recreational Student Services Program
Challenge
UC Berkeley Recreational Student Services Program - Unit 3, 2400 Durant. Student Services Laundry room had flooded and ruined the existing vinyl composition floor.
The client sought a resilient flooring surface to withstand the work area's use and prevent future water damage.

Solution
After a site meeting with the client and listening to their concerns about this project, we surveyed the existing Laundry Room. We recommended our ACF urethane cement system: 1/4" cementitious floor resin, with urethane wall coving and a polyaspartic resin finish system.
It's a durable floor with a slip- and water-resistant flooring system.
Results
Through our years of floor experience, we see other companies' excellent, great, and failed installations. We know a successful flooring system is only as great as the people, process and installation. Floor prep does matter, and floor preparation is the key to any long-term flooring installation. Our floor preparation system for this project included:
- Floor crack chasing.
- Trowel-finished urethane wall covering up to six inches.
- A seamless wall-to-wall urethane cement floor resin system application.
We have incorporated a unique element into our flooring system, a cement-mixed flake application, which not only enhances the aesthetics but also provides a Terrazo-finished look within the UC resin system. To ensure the ultimate finish, we have applied a polyaspartic clear finish coat.
Client Testimonials
“Our basement area which houses a Multi-Purpose Room, Library, Music Rooms, Laundry room and more flooded. It was a huge mess and quit the project to put it back together. However, if there is a shining light to this project, it is the new floor that All County Floor installed in the laundry room.
We needed a newer waterproof floor that could withstand another water intrusion incident without damaging floors and walls. All County Floors suggested we install their UC Resin System. Their process was detailed, and it looks amazing! We essentially turned the laundry room floor into a beautiful new 1,200 sq. ft. shower pan."
